May Cheese Box Club!

Unbox our latest Cheese Box Club with a Jubilee twist!
May Cheese Box Club cheeses: Highland Camembert, Elsdon with Nettle, Cornish Blue, Red Leicester, Cheddar and Mr Filbert's snacks

To celebrate the upcoming Platinum Jubilee on Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd June, we gave our Cheese Box Club the first SNEAK PEEK of our Great British Cheese Selection. This month we included a selection of 5 cheeses and a FREE GIFT to create the ultimate cheeseboard featuring a variety of British Artisan Cheesemakers, including a BRAND NEW cheese from Northumberland Cheese Company which is currently unavailable to buy!

In this month's box we featured:

HIGHLAND CAMEMBERT (V)

Similar in style to Morangie Brie with a springy, white edible rind and smooth soft centre when ripe. Highland Camembert offers a mildly earthy flavour with a hint of sweetness. Delicious on a cheeseboard or on baked bruschetta.

ELSDON WITH NETTLE (V)

Produced by Northumberland Cheese Company, Elsdon cheese is made using Goat's milk from a single herd of goats in Yorkshire. A hard pressed cheese with the addition of real nettles throughout. Elsdon offers a delicate flavour with refreshing tang as the end note. Enjoy on a cheeseboard or for a unique twist try in a pear and walnut salad.

CELTIC RED LEICESTER

Created by the Isle of Man Creamery in Cronkbourne. Celtic Red Leicester has a deep colour and smooth flavour which lends itself particularly well for cooking. For a delicious side dish, try Potato Gratin with Garlic and Red Leciester.

CRICKETERS FARM EXTRA MATURE CHEDDAR (V)

Produced in the lush green pastures of Somerset. Cricketers Extra Mature Cheddar is matured for approximately 15 months giving it a sharp flavour profile and slight creamy texture. Why not try on a ploughmans lunch with a tangy chutney and apple.

CORNISH BLUE (V)

Produced by the Cornish Cheese Company on Stanfield's Farm in Bodmin Moor, this delicious cheese offers a smoother and creamier alternative to a standard Blue Stilton. Designed to be eaten as a young cheese, Cornish Blue is matured between 8-14 weeks. Offering a flavour profile described as mild and creamy, with a dense texture and buttery richness instead of a salty tang.

Mr Filbert's mixed olives with rosemary and garlic and sea salt crunchy corn, the free gift in the May box

FREE GIFT - This month's FREE GIFT was Mr. Filberts Mixed Olives with Rosemary and Garlic and Mr. Filberts Crunchy Corn with Simply Sea Salt.
