In May, we were thrilled to learn that Northumberland Cheese Company’s cheeses received fantastic recognition at the 2025 Artisan Cheese Awards. Although we couldn’t attend the event in person—because we were proudly showcasing our products at the Northumberland County Show—we sent our entries with high hopes, and they certainly didn’t disappoint!
We’re delighted to announce that our Redesdale was awarded a Bronze in the Ewes’ Milk category. Redesdale has always been a favourite among our customers, and this award is a wonderful recognition of the care and craftsmanship that goes into every wheel.
Our beloved Chesterwood also impressed the judges, earning a Silver Award in the Smoked category along with a “Highly Commended” mention. While Chesterwood didn’t win its class this year, we’re proud to see it acknowledged among some of the finest artisan cheeses in the UK.
The Artisan Cheese Awards, held annually in Melton Mowbray, saw a record-breaking 650 entries from 123 cheesemakers—including 21 from Ireland—making this year’s competition especially tough. We’re delighted that our cheeses stood out in such a talented field, highlighting the quality and passion behind Northumberland Cheese Company.
We couldn’t have achieved this without the ongoing support of our wonderful customers, partners, and the wider Northumberland community. These awards are a testament to your enthusiasm for artisan cheese and the dedication of our small but passionate team.
We look forward to sharing more of our award-winning cheeses with you—whether at local events, in our shop, or on your cheese boards at home.
Here’s to another year of delicious cheese and great company!
