What We Do with the Information We Gather

All of the information we gather is used solely to process orders placed on the website. It is not passed on to any third parties. Contact information will be stored on our Sage Payment system for ease of re-purchase by the customer.

Any credit or debit card information entered on our website is processed through a payment gateway and encrypted using 128-bit encryption. Payments are processed through Elavon. We do not have access to, nor do we store any payment details on either our website or our Sage Accounting System.

Email Marketing

You have the option to opt-in to signing up for our e-newsletter. First names, surnames, and email addresses will be stored on Mailchimp, and in no other location. When you sign up for our e-newsletter, you will be added to a mailing list. E-newsletters are generally sent out on a weekly basis, with slightly increased frequency over Christmas. You have the option to unsubscribe from emails at any time. Any emails sent out as email marketing give you the option to unsubscribe via a link at the bottom of the email. Email addresses are used solely by Northumberland Cheese Company and will not be passed on to any third parties. We send out surveys from time to time using the built in feature of Mailchimp. Please note that all responses are anonymised, and no personal data is stored on the site.

  • Email Tracking:We receive data from Mailchimp which tells us the click-through rate and opening rate of our e-newsletters. Only the statistics are used from Mailchimp. We are notified of the email addresses which unsubscribed, but there is no further communication with those email addresses. Email notifications from Mailchimp are deleted.
