We were absolutely delighted to gain a license earlier this year at Northumberland Cheese for the sale of alcohol both in the shop and online... here's what it means for you...
We are now permitted to serve wine or beer with food in the cafe! We have an array of products, including local ales from First and Last Brewery and Matfen Brewery, who are both local. We have mini bottles of red and white wine, and Prosecco (we had a customer order a mini bottle of Prosecco and the scone a few weeks back... what a combination!).
We have two fantastic events coming up...
For the perfect aperitif, why not come to our Cheese and Wine Evening in October? We will be joined by Michelle from Grape and Grain- she has been busying herself with delicious wine pairings with our cheese, and she will be here to present them. Expect an evening full of insights, from both Michelle and us, and a whole load of deliciousness. Wine will be for sale on the evening, as well as our cheese at 10% discount... so it's a great time to think about those Christmas gifts. Spaces are limited, so reserve your spot now https://www.northumberlandcheese.co.uk/cheese-and-wine-evening-ticket
For our Cheese and Beer Evening, we had to have Sam from First and Last Brewery as our guest speaker; he set up First and Last Brewery 2016, and has producing fantastic ales, bitters and IPAs ever since. He has been working carefully on pairings with our cheese, and we can't wait to share them with you. In addition, expect plenty of craft beer stories; Sam is hugely passionate about what he does, which will be evident in his musings. Hampers both in the Cheese Loft Shop and Online have the option of adding alcohol... we have our eyes on the Border Reivers Hamper, with the possible addition of Reiver beer from the First and Last Brewery... https://www.northumberlandcheese.co.uk/border-reivers-hamper-
Challenge 25 and legal matters...
Alcohol to customers under the age of 18 is illegal. Please note that in the Cheese Loft Cafe and Shop, you will be required to produce identifcation if you are lucky enough to appear under 25. This also applies for attendees to any events.
Sending alcohol as a gift...
Please note that the recipient of any gift containing alcohol will be required to sign for and present ID on receipt of any gift. The parcel will not be left in a safe place or with a neighbour, and the parcel cannot be accepted by anyone but the recipient. Please ensure your recipient is at the address on the day of despatch and is there to receive it.
We hope this all makes sense, and please just call us on 01670 789 798 if you have any questions.
